Yes, IT IS TIME.
Monday, 28th May 2001
Like most websites, the best times are the times when they appear totally dead. If we had time to do things like updating the front page, none of the more important stuff would get done. In reality, none of the more important stuff has been done either. However, fast forward a few weeks and feer the change. Promise.
Future
Thursday, 15th February 2001
Like a six month coursework project, the future of Lab6 is being... thought about. If you have any ideas, mail Dave about them. Mehh.
Wears
Friday, 1st February 2001
It's quite simple really. It's either the summer or the winter holydays depending on our relative position from the equator, so we are either too hot or too cold to do a damn thing. Apart from bust a haul of exceedingly good quality T-Shirts with that imfamous Lab6 logo.
Logos
Friday, 29th December 2000
Three, yes, three interesting pictures for you to gawp at. The first one is a truman show style Lab six logo, the second is the same, but made of yearbook photos, and the third is the cutting edge in privacy invasion technology.
A mere science project away from two months
holiday
Thursday, 7th December 2000
The resident bot in #lewis has developed significantly within the past week. This follows a Lab6 tradition of only ever doing the really interesting Lab6 stuff during exam week.
Me feelin' it
Thursday, 30th November 2000
The good old (but crap new) Register has posted an article about www.pyeah.com which is going through something we narrowly avoided ourselves. By the way, our "poor joke" has yet to go wrong. And remember: school censorship will EAT YOUR SOUL.
We Worship Google
Sunday, 26th November 2000
Can you believe it? Two updates on the same side of a deadline! This is special, though. Searching google for references to Lab6 turned up the following interesting amuselets: nearly half of the references are something to do with gossi's cobalt exploits. Most of the rest are to do with SFCave. Various satellite Lab6 sites were there, along with a transcription of PC-Active's "September 2000 Hyperlinks", which listed Lab6 in the "world weird web" category, along with createafart.com. We are considering a lawsuit.
Have a look at this

This here kuro5hin.org article brings back memories - it's got a power crazy admin, iron fisted school policies, subversive websites and tape recording. Sure to resurrect some ghosts.
Out Of The Blue
Wednesday, 15th November 2000
Oh no! Advertising! Ourselves! That's alright, isn't it? Apparently we have something to do with Out of the Blue, a theatre company associated with resident millionaire superstar actor Adonis. Expect great things from them when they stage Lab6 The Movie: The Stage Edition.
On an older note, it turns out that Hell No! they shouldn't have filtered Lab6. That won, 133 votes to 16. Just goes to show how much we didn't care, leaving that democracy bit on the front page for nigh on a year. The old news is coming soon.
Slash plan stalling, but don't fear!
Tuesday, 14th November 2000
A new page within the yearbook! Some may say the funniest yet, but in fact it's not really that funny. Remembering the subject is. Unless you were there, round, or abouts, you probably won't get much of it. Of course, until we're all fully out of the grip of the local authorities, it'll stay under lock and password. /join the usual place to obtain it (chances are we won't turn you down - just don't say "Hello kids, it's Mr...umm... no wait... it's..."). If you still don't get, look at the new button on the right for some inspiration.
Also, Bertson delivers the goods again with some classic General Studies mockery. Observe!
And yes, I've noticed how old the news here is. And how dead some of the reciprocal links are. And how much we need a refresh. I really am hoping for slash.
Something good coming soon?

In traditional style, months of inactivity may be swiftly followed up by beautiful creations of excelence. Concentrating efforts on IRC has paid off in the form of large amounts of entertainment. However, there is one more piece of the puzzle to complete before Lab6 opens up it's doors to the world, holding up burning passwords on pitchforks. And I want slash to tell you about it with.
A wonderful new IRC section
Friday, 15th September 2000
Dedicated entirely to our wonderful channel, the wonderful IRC section is now up, for your en-wonderment.
The de-classification continues
Tuesday, 5th September 2000
Lab6 appears to have been celebrating the joys of nostalgia recently, with Miseducation, all the #lewis stuff, and now a couple of previously forgotten RPSE essays, right here. There may even be more to come, as I hunt for a way to convert RealPlayer G2 video into DivX...
Amusification of the day
Monday, 4th September 2000
In a certain meeting somewhere, in a certain new building, a certain proprietor of this new building announced to a certain crowd that this wonderful new building had new pupils joining that week, and some new blinds in it. He then told us how important it was for us to not touch the blinds, as they break easily. He touched one and it broke almost straight away. English is a funny old thing, and cunningly lead a certain local into this interpretation of the speech:
"He's talking about blind people?"
Lab6 Goes Bad
Saturday, 2nd September 2000
Thanks to the proper #lewis page. Just like the personal yearbook pages, you are TOTALLY banned from going to it unless... etc. etc.
"Jack in" to the #lewis "mainframe" at the bottom of the column on the right.
At Least That's Something
Sunday, 30th July 2000
No more front page 'advert', and perhaps in the future, no more 'adverts' on any pages.
New sounds, as soon as I get a (better) working microphone, will be around soon, as part of the full album.
As you can see if you look hard enough (at other parts of the Internet), we are quite famous now. Commanding enormous media power, we WILL you to visit the Official Lab6 Fan Club.
Surprisingly Reasonable Explanation
Thursday Morning, 27th July 2000
The real story behind the cult responsible for last weekend's trouble will soon be found on a spin off website of it's own. Humourous meme propagation (i.e. both propagating humourous memes, and deriving humour from meme propagation) being in the Lab6 manifesto (where did that go, eh?), we advise you to bow down to the greatness that is The Cult of Jim.
A link as soon as the website is at least looking as if it has the potential to be finished.
The Miseducation album is almost finished too, complete with totally new, definitively poor quality sounds.
Lab6 Crew Taken Down In Night Raid
Monday, 23rd July 2000 3:00am BST
Whilst idly-curiously walking home, two members of the team were accosted, and shackled to the inside of a car. They were driven off to a fortified location deep in the heart of their nearest major city. Stripped of possesions, they were locked in a barred room for nearly two hours. During a gruelling interrogation, it emerges that the captors are willing to give the pair a break if they comply with routine paperwork 'massaging', in order to increase the simplicity of the assailants 'work'. Our two agents were ejected back into decent society later. Word of the incident has since spread throughout the local establishment.
Other boos fearing for their lives would do well to lock their doors at night, be sure to turn the key twice in the lock, and sleep with one eye open, stroking a loaded shotgun.
This update is purposely back dated for STRICT accuracy. The full story may be posted at a later date, but I believe the moral is to make sure your beat bars don't shine.
