Here we have the news for June, July, August and September combined into one page, because there wasn't much/any, for obvious reasons.
Soundz and Vidz coming soon
Saturday, 26th June 1999, 1:00pm by James
There've been rumours that some load of 11th years went and trashed all the Acorn computers and dumped them on the field. Hang on... rumours? Didn't they notice? Are the Acorns so under used and so under valued that nobody cares or can be bothered to go and have a look to see if they really have been 0wned? Yes, they are.
Also, y'know it's only 6 days until the end of the world. Or 10. Or 26. Or 31. Or 65. It all depends on who you believe, you see, which according to the sheer amount of articles on the subject that are quite simply lies, should be nobody but yourself!
I'm in the process of sorting out the... hmm... 'Media' pages so that they work. The videos should be easy to link, but I want to convert all the sounds into mp3 format so everybody can hear them more easily. Unfortunately at the moment, the vidz won't be avaiLable in anything other than RealPlayer G2 format for quite some time because of their hugeness. So I suppose RealPlayer is quite good for compression.
So now what?

Well the next thing to sort out is the mail addresses... they should be along soon. Aparfrom that, everything's going smoothly.
Adégadé!
Tuesday, 22nd June 1999, 7:15pm by James
We have Lab6! And it works! w000! Tell the world! Spread the
word! (as you can see, it's quite exciting)
There are lots of new bits. A new logo, a new page, and the search engine works for the whole site now (at least, it will a few hours after I've uploaded the pages). You can view mircStats for #lewis, and see old news (I've shortened the list now). And there are some new ads (that's 16 in total). All of this, might I remind you, is on the menu on the right over there. No frames required and lynx compatible. The yearbook, however...
Another attempt at registration
Tuesday, June 15th 1999, 6:12pm
OK (as recent sentences are inclined to start), we're going to have another go at registering the domain tomorrow. If that doesn't work, we're out of ideas for the moment. If it does, then great.
As far as I understand, InterNIC activate the domain 24 hours after registration, so we're looking at it working on Thursday, if not, Friday. We'll know before then if it's going to mess up, though.
Recently, we've noticed that the c0lonel talks exactly like an English version of Dr Aevil from Austin Powers, another great thing with the initials AP.
Tomorrow is Health Day for Year 9. They have been told to bring a healthy packed lunch. This trend is disturbing. They've also been told to wear brown jumpers, and have been told to collect a minimum of £20 for Sponsored Day. Told? TOLD? This is charity, dammit! Authoritarianistic behaviour is typical of their urge to control. However, not even the most die hard fascist government can stand up to us havin' a laough at their expense. Not that they'd notice a small dent on their monolithic expense sheet, what with all the 'Other' being payed into a Swiss bank account with the serial number w1lh31m.
Delay with Lab6
Monday, June 14th 1999, 6:30pm
OK, there's been a delay - the primary name server is not working at the moment, but that should be fixed pretty soon. Registering can happen soon after that. If it takes 24 hours to register it, it'll be done as soon as the name server thing is fixed. That could be any time, probably before Friday.
Also, an examiner is going to have a bit of a shock when he finds that an ionic equation for the formation of hydrogen gas is in fact "http://www.Lab6.com". Thanks Dave.
A quick message
Friday, 11th June 1999, 7:15pm
This, as you can probably work out, is not meant to be here until Lab6 is working. If, by any chance, Lab6 happens to be working before I remove this message, then ignore the page. I'm just testing the new bits, and adpating it to run on maria. The Search box doesn't work and the #lewis stats are screwed up. None of the links work and most of the pictures probably won't be here.
I want to upload the at school to save on phone billz - there's about 4 megs of filez to be uploaded. Most of that is pure html, by the way - only 1.5megs of pictures. The videos can stay on xoom and the sounds can go up later when they're in mp3 format.
Hmmm
Tuesday, June 8th 1999, 2:46pm
Something like a gnat's wing almost stopped us, but it's probably going to be okay. Probably.
Right...
Tuesday, June 8th 1999, 11:12am
Only something like a gnat's wing could stop us now! If some parts of the site stop working over the next few days, then it's probably your fault, since I'm not going to touch it anymore. The site will now be updated only on our host machine. We will have Lab6 very, very soon. To amuse yourself in the meantime, I suggest you go and do some revision. It's a maths thing, y'know?
Interestingly, Lab2, Lab3, Lab4, Lab5, Lab7 and Lab9.com have all been taken, so we were quite lucky. Also, ever heard of Burn-In Conditioning? Sounds like an entrance exam for Lab 6!
